Hello, and welcome to Hunt 'n' Haul.
If you're reading this, you've probably got a garage that's seen better days, a loft that's become a time capsule, or perhaps you're facing the daunting task of clearing a loved one's home. Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you found us.
My name's Michael, and I'm the founder of Hunt 'n' Haul — a brand new garage and loft clearance service based right here in Huntingdon, serving the town and surrounding villages across Cambridgeshire.
Why I Started This Business
I grew up here. My entire childhood was spent wandering the Fens. After a decade spent in London, I moved back and fell in love all over again. This place has a rich history, and the towns and villages are filled with stories. Recently, I worked a postman for Royal Mail, delivering all around the Huntingdonshire area.
Time and again, I'd chat with residents who were overwhelmed. "I really need to sort out that garage," they'd say. "Mum's loft is full of thirty years of stuff and I don't know where to start." The task always seemed too big, too emotional, too much.
I also come from a creative background (writing and acting) which taught me something important: every person has a story, and every object can carry meaning. That tatty old toolbox might have been your grandfather's. That box of yellowed photographs might contain the only images of relatives long gone.
The big clearance companies treat everything as "waste to be removed as quickly as possible." I wanted to do something different.
The Hunt 'n' Haul Difference
Our name says it all. Every job has two parts:
The Hunt — Before we load anything onto the van, we work with you to identify items that matter. Things with sentimental value get set aside for you to keep. Things with monetary value? We'll sell them and give you 30% of the profits back. We call it the "Treasure Hunt," and it's what makes us different from everyone else.
The Haul — Once we've hunted for the treasures, we clear the rest responsibly. We're Environment Agency registered (CBDU618952), fully insured, and committed to recycling and donating as much as possible. Our goal is zero to landfill.
Our promise: We won't rush you. We won't throw away something important. And we'll leave your space cleaner than we found it.
A Local Business Supporting Local People
Hunt 'n' Haul isn't a franchise. It's not a call centre in another city. It's me — a local person who lives in the area, knows the community, and genuinely cares about doing a good job.
When you call or WhatsApp, you're talking to me directly. When I give you a quote, I'll have already thought about the parking situation on your street, the best route to the recycling centre, and whether that vintage radio in your photos might actually be worth something.
I'm building this business on reputation. Every job matters. Every customer is a neighbour.
Who We're Here For
If any of these sound familiar, we can help:
- Downsizers — Moving from a family home to somewhere smaller and need to part with decades of accumulated belongings
- Families dealing with probate — Clearing a loved one's home during an already difficult time
- Busy professionals — That garage full of Amazon boxes and forgotten exercise equipment isn't going to clear itself
- Landlords and estate agents — Properties that need clearing before sale or rental
- Anyone who's simply overwhelmed — Sometimes you just need someone else to take charge
Getting Started
We're now taking bookings for clearances across Huntingdon, St Ives, Godmanchester, St Neots, and all the surrounding villages.
Getting a quote is easy — just fill out the form on our website or send us a WhatsApp message with some photos of what needs clearing. We'll get back to you within two hours with a clear, fixed price. No hidden fees, no surprises.
I can't wait to meet you and help restore some space (and peace of mind) to your home.
